Holland is back form Brazil! This band is a must see
if you haven't seen Holland K. Smith, just do it. We drove from
Dallas to Ft. Worth, TX to see the band and it was worth the drive.
The Holland K. Smith has released his third CD. This one is
the best yet. "Enough
is Enough" on Pacific Blues records.
What can I say, Holland
exceeded my expectations. I went to to see a good band
and saw an amazing performance. There are allot of good
players and singers in Texas, but not many can carry both functions
at this level. Holland is a truly accomplished musician destined for
success.
It's show time and
Holland K. Smith takes the stage.
Cheryl sings
and plays harp and then gives the stage to Danny.
Danny (left) takes the lead in
"classic" style. What a player!
Jim-Bass and Michael-Drums
Jim Milan has been
with the band a while and sounds great. He use to play with
Anson Funderburg as well as many others.
Michael Dahoney is rock solid and one
of the best drummers I have heard to date.
Danny Ross played
keyboards on the Enough is Enough album.
Cheryl Arena performed
with the band tonight. She sings and plays the harp.
Cheryl has a very luscious
voice and adds dimension to the music with her blues harp.
Holland leads into a guitar
solo with classic Texas Tone. You got to see this guy.
Holland's rig consists of a
65' Fender Super Reverb (nice) and an Epiphone Sheraton. His only effects
are a 10 foot cord and a pack of Pall Malls (full
flavor).
Sam Harris is the owner of the
Bluebird Blues Club. Sam meets you at the door and makes you feel
right at home.
